About the event

DysFUNKtion Brass is excited to be a part of the Jonnie's Goodguys #DoGoodStuff Concert at the Rathskeller on Sunday, July 15th. We kick off the entire show and hope to set the bar pretty high for the bands that follow.

Jonnie's Goodguys events raise money and awareness of heart health issues. This battle of the bands format concert is one of the major fundraisers that the organization does each year. Tickets at the door are only $10 BUT this also includes your first drink for the day! A pretty good deal and for a great cause!

DysF has one little teeny tiny hiccup for the day... We were honored to be asked to be part of the event, but all of our trumpets (yes all) have conflicts this weekend, so we ended up getting pretty creative! We crafted a completely new set of tunes arranged specifically for the voices for this show and we asked John Boyle of Tripel to sit in on guitar and help fill out some sound. The instrumentation for the day will be drumset, sousaphone, bari sax, bone, tenor sax, mellophone, and guitar.... Ever seen that on stage before??

And with this eclectic instrumentation comes an even more eclectic songlist. Dan Pf will croon some Harry Connick and then the craziness starts. The middle song is a mashup of Bruno Mars and Nine Inch Nails followed by a closer mashup of Dr. Dre, Lorde, and Nirvana... yes, on horns... YOU DO NOT WANT TO MISS THIS!!!

We go on at 3:15 sharp!
